Boy in striped pyjamas

 Hi for the last 5 weeks in reading me and my group have been reading the boy in the striped pyjamas for literacy after we read the book we had to make a jack door about the information I enjoyed making this as I have already watched the movie last year so I know what happens What I found challenging was making the writing perfect (the picture is quite blurry but it was taken off a Chromebook so that's the best quality I could get it)

Dixon house

 Dixon House 

On Tuesday Taiao went to Dixon house to read to the residents for international read a book day and it was run by tai poutini polytechnic we first hopped on the bus at 12:55 to the rest home them we walked up the road and walked inside we each brought a book to read to them. When we walked inside they were all waiting in the lounge we started to wander around to read/ talk to each of them I spotted my great nana and great-grandpa first I went over and started to talk to them after a while I made my way around and talked to everyone I knew a couple people there already.

everyone was really respectful and really kind I read 2 books the elephant man and escaping the holocaust. I read 4 chapters of my book to one woman I felt really bad because I had never read escaping the holocaust and didn't know how grusium it was she seemed to be enjoying it! Though I know when some of my friends were reading they made some of the residents cry of happiness. I've been inside Dixon house quite a lot and used to go in there with one of my mum's friends that work there.  It was really cool to get to know some of the residents and how kind they were one lady came up to me and my friends and was talking about how beautiful we were and that she hopes we get far in life which was so sweet and kind and much appreciated. 

Soon after we got some kai, we had some really yummy food and each got chocolate and 2 other snacks. It was so good!! 

I learnt a lot from it I learnt that the people there are so nice I learnt about some of their lives and what they liked to do as kids and what their favourite book is and I also learnt that kindness goes a long way like how one of the residents came up to me and my friend and said we looked beautiful and that she hoped we would go far in life. I also learnt small things like what they got for breakfast, lunch and dinner there. 

I enjoyed a lot of things there but one main thing was getting to know them and seeing the joy on their faces when we read to them. They were all so sweet I also enjoyed the food there.

It made me feel really good because it was so cool getting to read to them and they all loved it and were really happy when we were talking to them which was super cool.

Current events- concerns for Wellington buses.

 Hi for this week's current events I choose the concerns for wellington buses what I found challenging was writing it what I enjoyed was making the poster and learning more about this. WALT:  answer a question using a document.

Hi, in class we had to do this digital dig slide it teaches you shortcuts and has activities for you I found a lot of this challenging cause I didn't understand this but I enjoyed it

ANZAC

This week in class we are going to be learning all about ANZAC and the war in this activity I had to make an ANZAC collage and put the links to the website I enjoyed making this cause it was interesting and I learned a lot what I found challenging was finding the links to the pictures cause I could not find them.

This term we are focusing on energy, for reading I done this diagram to demonstrate the definition of solar energy how it looks and what it is this was easy and fun to make and I didn't find anything too challenging about this.

Hi everyone, This is my first blog post of the new year! Today we did the kawa of care I wrote this list of rules for my chrome book I really enjoyed making this and re-learning the rules I didn't really find anything challenging about this.

 Hi, this week's summer learning journey challenge is to re-create a famous artwork I choose the watermelon because I thought it looked really cool, we use the app art coloring book there were 16 different colors in the pallet, I found it challenging because it was hard to match the colors.

Hi for current events this morning I choose Kamala harris I like this because it is inspiring and very cool that she's the first female vice president ever I found this easy and educational to make I really enjoyed making this because it was inspiring.

 Hi, today for current events I choose an iceberg on a collision path with south Georgia because I found it interesting I found it tricky to research it because nothing came up I enjoyed finding out facts about it.

This term our main focus is on sportsmanship and what it means. this is my third task, how to be a gracious winner and loser.  I really enjoyed doing this because It was easy but fun what I found challenging was definitely thinking of what to write and coming up with facts.
